How Did I Choose My Blog Name?

I suggest you choose something close to your heart, something that you will cherish even if you become old. You'll never know, that blog name might be recognized someday, and you'll always be a part of it.

How Did I Choose My Blog Name?

Wow, You're still here! I think you must know by now that I named my blog site, "Turning Page." I think my closest friends would know why since I have posted this a lot in my Facebook stories and Twitter feed recently.

Turning Page is a song by Sleeping at Last from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. This is the song played when Isabella Swan walks down the aisle to marry Edward Cullen, and during their honeymoon scene.

Even if you don't watch Twilight, I hope you take a listen to this  beautiful piece and find it as beautifully moving as I do.  I listened to this song multiple times already whenever I watch Breaking Dawn Part 1 (I can't even remember how many times). Still, I never tried to listen keenly to the lyrics and forgot that this song exists, until this year, Stephenie Meyer released the playlist for Midnight Sun. I listened intently to the song and instantly fell in love with the lyrics. For those who didn't know, Midnight sun is the companion novel of the Twilight book back in 2005, it retells the point of view of Edward Cullen. That time, I just built my blog page for my website, but I don't know what to call it, and I thought  "Turning Page" might be a great name because of the following reasons:

  1. Turning Page is clearly a good blog name unlike from my other ideas, like, Thoughts, Shining Pen, Blog, Maha's Adventures, Meticulous Page, Enchanted, Point of View, and Pieces of Myself.
  2. The ideas I've mentioned in #1 doesn't have that big effect on me, I believe that the name of my blog site should be something that I will always wanted to hear  long term.
  3. One of my favorite films is Breaking Dawn Part 1, if I name my blog Turning Page, I'll always remember my favorite quotations and scenes from the books/films.

These reasons made me realized that "Turning Page" is an excellent name for my blog, and now you're actually reading in my Turning Page. :) If you're planning or currently building your blog and having a hard time choosing a blog name, I suggest you choose something close to your heart, something that you will cherish even if you become old. You'll never know, that blog name might be recognized someday, and you'll always be a part of it.

Turning Page by Sleeping At Last

I've waited a hundred years
But I'd wait a million more for you
Nothing prepared me for
What the privilege of being yours would do
If I had only felt the warmth within your touch
If I had only seen how you smile when you blush
Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough
Well I would have known
What I was living for all along
What I've been living for
Your love is my turning page
Where only the sweetest words remain
Every kiss is a cursive line
Every touch is a redefining phrase
I surrender who I've been for who you are
For nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart
If I had only felt how it feels to be yours
Well I would have known
What I've been living for all along
What I've been living for
Though we're tethered to the story we must tell
When I saw you, well I knew we'd tell it well
With a whisper we will tame the vicious seas
Like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees

My favorite lines are the following:

"i've waited a hundred years, but i'd wait a million more for you"

"your love is my turning page, where only the sweetest words remain".

"nothing prepared me for, what the privilege of being yours would do"

"if i had only felt how it feels to be yours, well, i would have known what I’ve been living for all along, what I’ve been living for."
